The Digitalizers
ARADEX AG in Lorch not only develops innovative electric drive solutions for commercial vehicles, construction machinery, and ships, but also impresses with its powerful digital tools that bridge continents.
When ARADEX AG joined the Chinese company Weichai Power Co. Ltd. in late 2019, it also gave a boost to digitalization. Cloud solutions, translation, chat, and collaboration software enable the synchronization of teams across continents and time zones. Together with students from Aalen University, the employees developed a chatbot to assist the sales department with routine tasks. ARADEX's digital masterpiece was delivered during the pandemic. When specialists could not travel to commission an electric bulldozer in Jining, China, they built a scaled-down duplicate of the machine in Lorch. With the help of this duplicate, an engineer in China and three colleagues in Germany managed to get the real bulldozer running in Jining. This hybrid commissioning process earned the company third place at the Resilience Award by the Economic Juniors and the Economic Club of Eastern Württemberg.
“Digital transformation helps us tremendously to manage projects across several kilometers, cultures, and time zones.”
Dr. Stefan Hellfeld, CEO of ARADEX AG
